Quick tip to ensure direct eye contact with multiple screens

In this article, you will learn how to ensure you are always establishing direct eye contact with your counterpart in video calls

To achieve direct eye contact with Casablanca, it is important that you align your head and gaze with the focal point where your call partner appears on your screen during a meeting. This is especially relevant if you normally use two or more screens.

Situation: Imagine you’re setting up Casablanca for a video call while using a laptop screen and a second monitor placed above it.

  1. Initial Setup
You are adjusting you head and gaze with the Casablanca window in the center of your laptop screen so it seems like you are making direct eye contact with yourself.

  2. During the Call

When you are joining a video call afterwards, you might move the video call window to the monitor above your laptop for a larger image. However, this may cause a break in the earlier established eye contact, making it seem like you’re looking over the person you’re talking to.

To avoid this from happening, you can follow these easy steps:

When setting up your head and gaze correction, position the Casablanca window in the same spot where the person in the video call will appear on your screen. This means if you're using a second monitor for your calls, you should open and set up Casablanca on that monitor  in the same position where the other person’s video will be during the call. This way, your conversation partner will feel like you are directly looking at them.
